Phra Pradaeng is the largest green area close to Bangkok and highlighted by Time Magazine as “the best urban oasis of Asia” in 2006. This land has a very special characteristic with the high biodiversity. All the conservation area in Phra Pradaeng cover 1,276 Rai of 6 Tambons but only in this area (Suan Pa Ked), it has an area of 65 Rai. The community would like to develop the site for eco- tourism and also this forest site will be useful for schools and students; they will use this site as a learning center or an outdoor classroom. PATT join the project in 2007, and since then we support the local community.

This is the first time  World Bank went tree planting to Phra Pradaeng, after 2 hours of cycling they arrived at the plnting site where they had lunch and heard something about the project in Phra Pradaeng form Jane Bailey. Jane talked about how best to offset the carbon foot print for one single conference held in Washington. After the speech Kwan showed everybody how to plant the trees. Children with their parents went and planted 200 trees. THe time flew by and soon it was over.

PATT hopes for prolonged cooperation with World Bank.
