Why are trees important?

Why are trees important?

Trees…

Are important for the well being of the entire planet because they filter pollution from the air
are the lungs of the planet – breath in harmful gases and breathe out oxygen
absorb sounds thus reducing noise pollution
help recycle water – by creating shade they stop the evaporation of water
prevent soil loss – not only roots but also leaves help by breaking huge rain drops which would break the soil
fallen leaves make good mulch
create shade
absorb radiation
give shelter from wind and rain
provide homes for animals – from smallest insects to birds
make food for humans and wildlife
provide an interesting, soothing, learning environment for children and your community
Are used by people to create rubber, cork, paper and wood (furniture, housing) and for medicinal purposes.

Without trees, there would be no life on this planet!

Help us save the planet one tree at a time!
