"Happy February with full of love and to celebrate Chinese New Year!! "

Wonderful Week with PATANA Yr8 in Kanchanaburi!

Location: Phutoey Community, Kanchanaburi, Thailand
Date: 17-19th November 2015
No. of trees planted: 210 and built 6 check-dams

During 16 – 20th of November, 2015, we were having a super great week with Bangkok PATANA School (Yr.8) in Kanchanaburi for their residential trip. They all experienced about medicinal plants by trying to eat some young shoots of “Buffalo Bill” and also tasted the “Murrya” leaves or so called “Licorice leaf”.

Furthermore, they helped the Phutoey local community to build up wet check-dam to collect water that runs to River Kwai! This forest is the home of the springs that brought together to River Kwai, a river of life of Kanchanaburi.

Apart from that, they also planted trees to nourish the forest here as well as to help to combat climate change.

The local community members were so happy to work with them for the 5th year consecutively and they were so proud of the great work the students have done for them. We all learned from each other about how to love nature and how to share respect to the people

So grateful to all the teachers to make the residential trip went so well and we thank all PATANA Year 8 students on behalf of Phutoey Community for their generous support to plant trees and build check-dams to sustain the beautiful patch of forest which is the mother of River Kwai

Thanks all community members of Phutoey and also the support from Royal Forest Department who made this week so wonderful! We feel the love to nature that all of us shared!
